Faith Saves.
Dear Diary,
Today while listening to this sermon from DIVINE UK, something that Father Edattu said, stood out very poignantly. The benefits that we reap today are the fruits of the seeds of faith shown by our parents and grand-parents. To drive home this point, he cited the example of RUFUS.
Now, if you wonder who he is, he is the son of Simon of Cyrene, who helped Jesus carry his cross. While Simon may have helped Jesus unwillingly and or unhappily, Jesus blessed him and the generations after him immensely.
If you need another example, think of the paralytic man, carried to the temple by his friends, who when they couldn't enter through the main entrance, broke the roof, knowing full well the consequences of their actions, because they knew that Jesus could heal the man. Jesus saw the faith of his friends and was moved by it.
Faith saves. Sometimes we may find that our personal individual faith is not enough, but we must not forget that it's not just our faith alone, it's the faith of all those who came before us and all those who journey in faith with us, like our family members and friends.
