Looking Back

Dear Diary,

As I wrote my last A-Z post on Tuesday, I felt  exhilarated, at completing the challenge, but also sad that the challenge was now over, I no longer have a reason to get up in the middle of the night and scribble the next day's post in my Diary.

Thanks to the challenge, I discovered some amazing blogs, and made many blogger friends. I got a chance to share my thoughts with bloggers around the world, who were kind enough to leave comments and also started following me. A Big Thankyou to Arlee Bird for promoting my blog, it has crossed the 50 followers mark : ) Kudos to the A-Z co-hosts and the entire team for such a successful venture !!

I learnt that one subject can be looked at through different perspectives. Many a times, our words clashed, but our methods of approaching it was completely different! This challenge was an excellent learning experience for me and I had a lot of fun! This year I chose random topic, next year I'll try to stick to a theme for a change.

Everyday I got to learn something new and witness something delightful. Some posts were funny, while some others were thoughtful and thought provoking. It was a delight to read them and comment on them!

I look forward to the challenge next year and to having more fun!

The Sunday Visitor.

  1. Like you, I was often burning the midnight oil to finish up my post for the next day! I had planned to write some ahead of time, but that just doesn't work well for me, I tend to be spontaneous in my life and in my writing, and it has to feel right in the moment that presents itself. I did see a theme to your A-Z posts - they were all inspirational/motivational pieces - thoughts that made us think about what we value, what is important, and what we can to do better ourselves and the world. Everytime I came here I left smiling at your wisdom and how well you use words to express your thoughts and beliefs... and especially at how much we have in common, often choosing the same word or illustration, yet we are probably at least thirty years apart! When it comes to being one of the family that is our world, age is not a barrier to love and understanding! I am eagerly looking forward to your new posts to come! XOXO, Josie

    1. Spontaneity is a good thing. I didn't realise that, but you are right. I did choose topics that inspired me, Thanks for bringing it to my notice. I'm glad my thoughts made such a difference, and you liked them so much. It's true, age is just a number! Thank you so much for showing such unconditional support through your encouraging comments and lovely words of Wisdom!!

  3. I agree that the AtoZ Challenge is a wonderful way to expand your readership. I have followers who are not into family history but find my blog interesting nonetheless. Likewise, I found new blogs to follow that give me a break from reading about genealogy. And like PV Ariel said, get your survivor badge and wear it proudly on your sidebar!

  6. What's that statistic about forming a habit? Something like if you do something for 20 consecutive days it becomes one? I believe I have formed a habit because not blogging for two days feels strangely empty. I too am thankful for the bloggy friendships I have formed:)

  9. Very nice reflection post. I can see the benefits of being random and spontaneous as well as scheduled and on a theme. Both have some appeal to me, so next year I may have to post on more than one blog!

Congrats on finishing the challenge! I have enjoyed visiting here from time to time and your comments are always thoughtful!

  11. I'm glad you had fun, and that you'll be doing it again! I hope that you'll still scribble in your diary in the middle of the night with inspiration, just not A-to-Z themed.

  12. Popping back in doing the road trip, but it doesn't look like you are? Keep the momentum going, keep posting and visiting. I'll soon be done with the road trip, that is I will have visited everyone who signed up for it. Maybe you changed your mind and decided not to post after signing up?
