Q is for Quiet Time.

Dear Diary,

Today's word is Q. I'll admit, it was quite difficult at first to find a word, but after a lot of deliberation I did arrive at one and that is, 'Quiet.'

Truly,an unexpected word, but something that we all need. A typical day in our life is filled with noise and activity rarely do we have some quiet time to ourselves. If we just take out a little quiet time away from the world and all the sounds and action that comes with it,we can discover a lot about ourselves. We are all social beings so being surrounded by people is good, but sometime you just need solitude, a little alone time for yourself.

In this 24 hr time span, keep some time for yourself, think about your day and how you want to make optimum use of it, or maybe just look back at the day you had and thank God for it. Sometimes in your quiet time, you can find answers to the  most troublesome questions, solutions to the problems that worry you, motivation when you are in dire need of some, inspiration when you are searching for it.

Leaving you with a quote I liked :

Enjoying my quiet time as I write this,
The Sunday Visitor

  1. Thank you for this lovely reminder of 'quiet time' and the value of it. It is the time to listen to our inner selves, reflect on the day, 'to unearth original answers' - as per the quote, and perhaps to ask perhaps original questions.

  9. Wonderful quote. I get up early and stay up late each day so I can have my quiet time. I need it. The days go so much better when I've had my time alone to read and write and reflect.

  12. Finding that we chose the very same quotation for our Q posts has me smiling a big smile today, Judygirl! We truly are of like mindset and feel drawn to similar things! I think I have found a new daughter that lives a distance away, but is as close as the keyboard! :-) Quiet is one of the greatest blessings to me, and I feel sad for people who fear or avoid it at all costs. I know folks who NEVER turn off their tv or music, even when they are sleeping! How can we hear that little voice within us if there is so much noise and business going on? We need time to process, and that only happens in the quiet. To me it is the most precious gift I give myself... absolute silence. Beautiful choice of Q-words, very inspired post. Your awareness of the important things in life at such a young age is going to take you far in life! I can't wait to know you twenty years from now!! :-))

    1. Your comments always make me smile. We have so much in common with each other. I'm so touched that you think of me as your daughter, you are like a Mom to me. I'm so glad that you value your quiet time, because it's only in the silence of our hearts and minds that we can hear God speaking to us.I'm thankful to God for making me aware of all this at my age. I'm glad we discovered each other's blog and blogging bought us so close. I hope I have a quarter of the lovely attitude of gratitude that you have, when I'm older.

  14. It actually difficult these days to find some quiet time as every other moment we check up our mobiles to see some updates! Probably that is the reason why meditation is so necessary. Nice topic selection!
