J is for Judge Not!
Dear
Diary,
For J, I recommend : Judge Not!
As
human beings, we all naturally judge the other person based on their actions,
their appearance, their conduct etc. I think that’s why the saying ‘First impression
is the last impression’ came into being, because one is judged on
his/her first appearance. What is worst is that one person’s judgement passes on to the
other.
Often
I hear things about people, but I do not allow it to colour my opinion of the
person in question.
We
would not like to be put up on a pedestal and scrutinized for our actions, why
do it to somebody else? Let people be, the way they are. Accept them for who
they are and not how you picture them to be. Someone once quoted this beautiful
saying by Mother Teresa : “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”
So STOP JUDGING, START LOVING!!
Leaving
you with a nice quote I found :
The Sunday Visitor
Not judging on first impressions is always a good idea - everyone has bad days sometimes and also people who have been hurt often hide.

Yes Swathi!
DeleteYour words are true, but sometimes difficult to implement. All we can do is continue to practice, right?
ReplyDeleteYes Nana absolutely. After all practice makes a man perfect.
Deletegood words! My father was so judgemental- always about people who had just stepped out of the room. I finally asked him- "so dad why don't you tell me what you say about me when I am not in this room." I have no patience for that nonsense...
ReplyDeleteThank You for visiitng.
DeleteI'm not a religious person, but the one thing I try to always remember is not to judge anyone. I don't know their motives or what's in their hearts, so judging them is pointless.
ReplyDeleteVery well said. It's better to accept people the way they are.
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog. Happy A to Z. Great choice for J. Well said.
ReplyDeleteIt was a pleasure, Thankyou for repaying the visit.
DeleteThis is a lovely sentiment, and I so agree. You never know what's happening in someone's life - better to listen and learn than judge!
ReplyDeleteVery well put and I wholeheartedly agree with you.
DeleteGreat sentiment indeed - it can be quite easy to jump to conclusions without waiting to hear the full story. Those who at least strive to keep an open mind and get the full story are who I strive to be like.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Trisha! Me too. Having an open mind is better than judging people.
DeleteWonderful ideas here. It's a terrible thing to judge people when we don't know the full story, plus we make them feel bad.
ReplyDeleteYes, we often hurt their sentiments by judging them. Thank You for visiting.
DeleteAn important reminder, presented gently. Well done!

Thank You for your encouraging comments and for visiting my blog.
DeleteIt's always worth stopping for a moment and wondering what the other person is going through that might temporarily be affecting the way they come across in any given moment.
ReplyDeleteVery true and very well put. With a little care and concern the world can become a better place.
DeleteAmen, amen, Amen! That is one of my favorite Mother Teresa quotes. How can we judge others harshly when we are far from perfect ourselves. We all need to learn to be more compassionate, more accepting. Beautiful post, Judy Girl!
ReplyDeleteThank You Josie, I love this quote too.
DeleteI've read your posts from Q to J so far. You and I seem to have written similar stuff, in different styles and with the same or different titles. You may be interested in reading my post 'Open-minded' at http://proactiveindian.com/2014/04/17/open-minded/
