Prize

Dear Diary,

Yesterday the mail brought something unexpected. Two weeks ago, I had taken part in an online contest, where we had to tweet a love story in 140 words or less. I tweeted and then forgot all about it,  till I was informed that my tweet was selected and the prize would reach me shortly.

This is my prize.
So for P, I chose the word Prize. Competitions and contests are fun when you take them in the right spirit. If you participate with the sole intention of winning, then you aren't really having fun. Give it your best shot and don't worry about the result. The prize is the joy that you get in participation, and if you win then it's just the cherry on the top :)

The Sunday Visitor.

  3. Congratulations! I once won first prize, from a Canadian newspaper, for one of my young adult short stories. It was then that I decided to give becoming an author a try!

  4. Huzzah! The only prizes I have won in a long time were from silent auctions at quilt shows!
