P is for Pray!

Dear Diary,

For P I recommend: Pray.

Today is Good Friday and I cannot think of a better word from P. I’m not very religious but I do believe in God and make it a point to spend some alone time with him.  I believe that Prayer has immense power and it is the answer to every problem.

I have seen wonders happening with prayer. Miracles happen when you have faith In God and entrust your life unto him. Sometimes our prayers are not answered; we must remember that maybe what we are asking is not good for us. God always gives us what we need because he knows what is best for us.

A guest lecturer in our Literature class, told us “imagine you are a Lilliput and God is Gulliver the giant. A storm is coming but you are unable to see it because of your narrow vision and of course you size but Gulliver can see everything and he puts you to safety. You may complain for a while, but later you will realize the importance of the action and thank Gulliver.”

A classic analogy. Sometimes God leaves our prayers unanswered because he has something better in store for us, far better than we can ever imagine. We need to trust God and all that he does.

You are all in mine :)

  9. I sometimes find that if I take a moment to close my eyes and sit in silence, it allows me to focus and to be grateful. Not sure whom I direct this too (to life itself?) but it feels like a prayer, and it feels good. Thank you for a very interesting post!

  10. This is such an excellent analogy! I can attest that prayer works, it does not matter if we don't understand how. God always answers our prayers... sometimes the answer is not now, and sometimes the answer is no, just as any loving parent would respond!

  11. God always answers prayers. He just doesn't always give us what we want. Unfortunately, we forget that "No" is a viable answer. And prayer is also praise of and conversation and time with the One who is worth all our love. Thanks for this post.
